The non- profit Food and Water Watch is hosting a showing of the award
winning film “GASLAND” at the Depot in Hillsborough on Sunday, May 20th at
7pm. GASLAND exposes the environmental and public health effects of the
controversial new method of drilling for natural gas known as “fracking”.
Following the film will be a short information session on possible
fracking in North Carolina and ways that you can take action.

The UNC-CH Center for Environmental Health and Susceptibility is pleased to announce the Seminar “Hydrofracking: Public Health Issues and Impacts”, to be presented by Trevor M. Penning, Ph.D. Dr. Penning is The Thelma Brown and Henry Charles Molinoff Professor of Pharmacology, Professor of Biochemistry& Biophysics and OB/GYN, and Director of the Center of Excellence in Environmental Toxicology at the University of Pennsylvania.
